Hi, I’m Rachel!
I'm a certified trauma-informed life and mindset coach and certified meditation instructor with a background in psychology and a master’s degree in forensic behavioral analysis. I graduated from the University of Minnesota Duluth with a BA in History in 2008 and then a BAS in Psychology in 2010. In 2015, I received my MS Degree in Forensics (Behavioral Analysis) from Florida Gulf Coast University. I spent nearly a decade in the criminal justice field working directly with special populations of offenders to make behavioral changes and improve their quality of life using evidence-based approaches. In 2023, I became a founding member of and received my coaching certification from the SSLS coaching program, created in 2023 by a former student and fellow of the Life Coach School, Kristen Boss. I'm trained in mindfulness-based stress reduction (MBSR), crisis intervention, motivational interviewing, thought modeling, and team and leadership coaching.
What does all of this mean for you? It means that I have intimate knowledge of and experience with all kinds of human behavior AND have the techniques and tools you need to unlock your mind and your potential. Together, we'll break through your distressing, choking, or suffocating thoughts and reconnect your mind, body, and energy. You'll emerge rejuvenated, motivated, and ready to move forward in your life, career, and relationships. I welcome working with individuals from all walks of life and with all topics and struggles. My passion area lies in helping women, especially mothers, thrive in both their career and home lives.
As a certified life coach, I use mindset coaching to help you transform thought patterns and beliefs to create a mindset that supports personal growth, resilience, and overall well-being. As a certified meditation instructor, I use breathwork and mindfulness techniques to enhance life coaching by cultivating self-awareness, emotional and nervous system regulation, and mental clarity. These techniques provide individuals with a calm and centered mindset, making it easier to identify goals, overcome obstacles, and stay focused on the coaching process. Meditation, breathwork, and mindfulness can also contribute to stress reduction, fostering a more receptive and open mindset during coaching sessions.
Combining life and mindset coaching, mindfulness, and meditation creates a comprehensive approach for personal growth. Coaching transforms thought patterns, sets goals, and provides guidance, mindfulness enhances present-moment awareness, and meditation cultivates mental clarity and emotional well-being. This synergy fosters a balanced and resilient mindset, offering individuals a holistic toolkit to navigate challenges, improve focus, and achieve their aspirations with a deeper sense of purpose. Does this mean you will need to meditate during sessions or learn to meditate at home? No! It simply means I have some additional, incredibly effective tools and techniques that we can use to help you break through mind blocks, unleash your true potential, and make your desires reality. However, if you would like to add breathwork or visualization to your session, we can absolutely do that. And if learning to meditate on your own time is intriguing, I can help you get started.
I deeply believe coaching, mindfulness, and meditation are three sides of a single triangle. Individually, they are effective tools to manage stress, identify possibilities, and create plans for personal and professional development. Together, they are a powerful triad where each enhances the other to facilitate a deeper exploration of thoughts and feelings, allowing you to be fully present and active during coaching sessions - and your life.
I live in the northern suburbs of Minneapolis, Minnesota with my husband, Nathan, two rambunctious boys, a puggle, a beagle, and a fuzzy old cat who chooses when love is the right time for her. My family and I returned to Minnesota to be near family in 2020 after nearly 12 years in Southwest Florida (and yes, we're cold!).
We truly enjoy the outdoors in all seasons! Camping, hiking, exploring the woods, fishing, and skiing. I also enjoy moments of self-care, yoga, and a regular meditation practice. I'm currently working on my 200-hour certified meditation instructor certification from the Meditation Alliance International and plan to complete my RYT200 yoga teacher training mid 2024.
I look forward to our mindful journey together!
